There is a reason I’m writing today and not Evan. I’m sure you’ll hear his voice on McLaren soon enough; this project means more to him than I suspect even I know. But there is a reason I took this on— the McLaren changed my life.

Maybe I’m dramatic. But, so is the McLaren.

This car, this McLaren MP4-12C, it’s like nothing I’ve ever done before. It’s beautiful; its sleek exterior will certainly draw your attention. Behind its beautiful carbon fiber body, it’s hiding a hell of a lot of power, but the perfect driver knows when to use it.

As the driver you’re in control: Comfort, Sport, Track. With the McLaren you get to choose, and switch modes— and maybe that’s where it was, the life changing moment. When I was in this crazy cool car and the tires were heated to 74 degrees, and Richard asked, “Would you like to switch to sport now?”

There’s a science to knowing when it’s the right time to switch from comfort to sport, both in a McLaren and in life. But the best part, the part that I realized in that moment— is that it’s always your choice— your life, your decision, your dream ride.
