Holiday Shopping Guide

I know we usually joke around a lot on this site, but I like to think if there is one thing that Average Enthusiast does right, it’s people. We care about getting to know our neighbors, not just their favorite football team, but their passions too; we want to know what makes Your heart tick.

I’ve been setting out to actually know the people I meet but, something in my gut keeps telling me it’s just not enough. It’s not enough to just want to know the people on your block and their passions; you’ve got to support them too. Rally behind people, with words and actions.

And I’m thinking; the holidays just might be the perfect time to do it.

Let’s review— we’ve had Erin & her love for Africa. This one is easy to support, how about a scarf for mom from fashionABLE ? This program provides opportunities for women in Africa to start their own business and support their families. Maybe stop by the Charity: Water store and help provide clean water to those who need it in Africa and around the world?

Maybe you were inspired by Wende and her team RACRE as they raised money for a cure for Dravett Syndrome? Why not head over to Dravet Beads of Hope and grab Grandma a bracelet, all the while supporting a cause and cheering on a friend?

It’s the holidays and I’m through with pointless words and pointless giving. This Christmas I’ll be stepping up to the plate and supporting the people I know and their passions . . . and in turn I’ll be supporting causes a little bit greater than I can even begin to understand.
